    Location

Ballintoy Harbour Cottage is situated right at the edge of the North Atlantic Ocean with stunning views across to Rathlin Island, and on clear days, the Western Scottish Isle of Islay.  The cottage is in the small fishing harbour of Ballintoy (from IrishBaile an Tuaigh meaning “the northern townland”), approximately one kilometer from the village itself. This rural village is very quaint with a couple of bars/restaurants.  Undoubtedly it is the breath-taking scenery and world-famous Causeway Coastline that attracts visitors throughout the year.

Harbour cottage was our summer home by the sea for over 20 years…..it became a winter retreat too for us when the children grew older, but they all always wanted to come up too, even if only in a day trip! Ideal for young families and young at heart families too. A few miles from Ballycastle in one direction and Bushmills and the Giants Causeway in the other, and a bus for each at the top of the road. A place you’ll remember long after the holiday is over.

From the joy of seeing the rising of the sun to the glorious colours of the setting sun Ballintoy Harbour Cottage is a very special place to stay at. We appreciate just being there and watching the many variety of seabirds running along the beach and flying over the waves. It has been our special place of retreat for a good few years.

The Harbour Cottage, Ballintoy is our home away from home. Each time we drive down the hill and see the cottage beyond, with its breathtaking and dramatic views.
    We will return very soon.

What to say about this gem of a cottage.

The Cottage is warm welcoming , with a cosy stove, plenty of bedrooms, the world’s worst pouring tea-pot, seriously that blue one, but please don’t change it puts a smile on all our faces each and every time.

The Cottage is modern and has everything you need for a weekend or longer, even has Wi-Fi so you can stay connected but why would you want to, when you look at where you are, there are better things to do.

We’ve stayed many times throughout the years, the kids have grown up visiting the Cottage, climbed everything that could be climbed, made sand castles on every beach, swum in every rock pool fantastic memories for us all.

We have visited at various times of the year, every time has been a unique and wonderful experience, I love the winter when the wind is blowing and the waves are crashing , getting back to the cottage from a walk, kettle on fire lit, perfect.

The beauty of the surroundings, the wildlife, the views, the bustling little TV star harbour with Cafe, the local artists, best bit though once they leave of an evening it’s all yours.
Fantastic coastal walks , pubs restaurants and everything else the North Coast has to offer all within easy reach of this little gem.
    Can’t wait to go back.
